A New York Times report on the America vs. England polo match, held at Meadow Brook, near Hempstead, Long Island, on June 14, tells us that the Goadby Loew girls all wore white on that occasion also.

The girls are, left to right, Florence (1901), Evelyn (1903) and Barbara (1899). The youngest Winifred was born in 1909, so I assume would have been too young to attend.
  • Kristi (LOC P&P) said:
Birstall46: Thanks for the further identifications of the daughters in the photograph. We will update the record with more information.

It's Marion HOLLINS as written on the plate. Could be the Marion Hollins (1892-1944) who was daughter of a New York banker, golfer and horsewoman, founder of the Women's National Golf Club: www.svchamber.org/svhistory/history/hollins.htm
  • The Library of Congress said:
Thanks for pointing out the correct spelling of her name. We'll fix it in our source data (which will enable people to find her more easily alongside other photographs of her in our online catalog - www.loc.gov/rr/print/catalog.html )) and then reload the data to Flickr.
  • Wystan said:
    reload away!
  • Wystan said:
LOC -- the spelling of her name still is not corrected.

LOC, I repeat my query of 14 months ago: When will the data be reloaded?
