The Horse Park of New Jersey opened in 1987. Monmouth Park Racetrack opened in 1870 and was used for polo, horse racing, and horse shows.

The sign on the track indicates this is the judging for Class 30, which at the 1917 Long Branch Horse Show was for "Shetland or Welsh Ponies not exceeding 12.2".
