The third M/S Stockholm was built in 1946, and in service for the Swedish American Line in 1948-1959, according to Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedish_American_Line Read "History: 1946-1951" (The list of Passenger ships in the article tells that she was built in 1948 though...which is contradictory.) The third M/S Stockholm collided with the Andrea Doria in 1956, and was repaired. She was sold to the East German government in January 1960. (Read also the second comment above linking to a Wikipedia article with the ship's story until today.) Thank you Brian for linking to the Wikipedia article about M/S Stockholm (1941) and (1938) - it should well be completed with the third M/S Stockholm (built in 1946 - or 1948). /Anna B.

    In the early 1900s the era of Haute Couture began to unfold. Traditionally, women wore full skirts with corsets but as fashion became more prominent, skirts began to slim and even show a little ankle. Supposedly, horse races were the premier time to show off the latest designer fashions.

    Relatives of mine, Mrs. M. Schiff (on the right) is Mrs. Mortimer Leo Schiff, or to use her maiden name, Adele Gertrude Neustadt, mother of Dorothy and John M. Schiff. Not sure where the location is, but probably one of the towns near the Jersey Shore. As for Mrs. Seligman, I don't know, could be one of a dozen women who married one of the grandson's of David I. Seligman during that time period.
