There are a bunch of other photographs in the Bain Collection related to this event, although not yet uploaded to Flickr. Most of them are consistent with the newspaper description of the event, such as the tented encampment etcetera. You can find them by searching for "gettysburg" in the Bain Collection at the LOC. This is the 50th anniversary reunion at Gettysburg in July 1913. This particular place was the siteof a reenactment of Pickett's Charge at Bloody Angle. It is not "Senator" Moore. The original caption is incorrect. It is not Bloody Angel, it is "Bloody Angle". J. Hampton Moore, shown speaking stridently in the photograph was the congressional Representative for Pennsylvania from November 6, 1906 to January 4, 1920. There is a mirror date scratched on the plate " 7/3/13 " July 3, 1913 being the 50th anniversary of the conclusion of the battle. It was a terribly hot day in Gettysburg, as you can see with some veterans sheltering under the shade of parasols.
