This is the Woman Suffrage Parade, March 3, 1913, in Washington, DC, held the day before the inauguration of President Woodrow Wilson Marching for the Vote: Remembering the Woman Suffrage Parade of 1913 -- "The Woman Suffrage Parade of 1913, one of the most dramatic public events in the 82-year struggle of American women to gain the vote" (Guide from the Library of Congress)

Thank you Elizabeth! We'll fix the date in the source data and reload the description.

My great aunt , K. Pearl Woodlief marched in this parade. Being the only NC delegate, she carried the heavy NC flag throughout the parade. She skipped work from the Durham, NC law firm where she was employed and when she telegraphed them on Monday morning, she was surprised to gain the support of the male lawyers of her firm. She later worked with Alice Paul and others to establish a local chapter in NC and I still possess many of the letters she wrote to NC congressmen asking for their support. She was born in Kittrell, NC in 1888.

@eitherorr1 -- I hope you will consider giving your aunt's letters to the Library of Congress, or to an archive in North Carolina . . . .

I wonder if the Bain negative numbers could be used to put these pictures in sequential order. There is also this map of the order of marchers in the parade: www.loc.gov/pictures/resource/ppmsca.02946/
