Training ship HMAS TINGIRA, probably moored at Rose Bay, Sydney Harbour

This is an interesting & important photo of 'Sobraon'. 'Sobraon' was originally designed to have auxiliary steam power, but before the installation of the boilers it was decided not to add the steam power. The space for the propeller shaft was closed off & the space for the propeller was infilled with timber fairings. This photo clearly shows the stern where the propeller was to fit-in forwards of the rudder. If you look closely at the photo just ahead of the rudder is a flat section of wood work that fills in the space that was to be open for the propeller to fit into the stern of the ship. Just forwards of the flat section you will see the shape of the stern filling out again.
