Great Moments in OH&S ! The 'Kulgoa' was built in 1905, 42.6 metres, 1255 passengers (preferably not all on one side!). (ref. Graeme Andrews - 'Pictorial History of Ferries', Reed,1982). From the ladies' frocks and hats, I would say pre WW1.

Full details of the 'Kulgoa' when new - Australian Town and Country Journal 18/01/1905 p.39, col.4 - trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/page/5711140 . Including this -
" The Kulgoa's moulded beam is 3ft 6in more than the Koree ... ... This will be found a considerable advantage when carrying large numbers of passengers, more particularly when the passengers get on one side [ ! ]. The resistance being so much greater, the vessel will not heel over, as is the case with other steamers. "

Great to see the very practical, roof mounted movie cameras of the two newsreel competitors 'Cinesound' and 'Fox Movietone'.
