    This is similar to another Frank Hurley photograph in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia. It would have been taken in December 1911, not 17 September 2008 :-)

    Wow.... this shot is incredibly surreal... Reminds me of that one episode of Futurama (Birdbot of Ice-Catraz) where Bender crashes a 6,000 hull tanker carrying dark matter on Pluto which results in a population explosion of penguins.
