Not the "Hawkesbury River", but the collapse of the old Glebe Island Bridge in August 1899. The new bridge was being built alongside; some of the new embankment slipped over and smashed the old wooden structure. The ship was built in 1922 and was 4086 grt. Owned by the Thompson Steam Shipping Co and sunk 1 April 1942 by U 160 in the North Atlantic. The ship was unusual, having corrugated sides but these are not apparent in the photo.
