This is New York City mayor William Jay Gaynor (1849-1913) with Rhinelander Waldo (1877-1927) the seventh New York City Fire Commissioner. This appears to be the May 18, 1912, Police Parade in New York City. The New-York Tribune claimed almost a million residents lined the street as 7,784 marched in the street. Most useless dating evidence ever: in 1880 Mortimer's Plymouth Dyeing Works had already been established for 106 years, according to this advert in The Royal Cornwall Gazette Falmouth Packet, Cornish Weekly News, & General Advertiser (Truro, England), Friday, October 22, 1880

1901 census, Main Street: McCarthy is there, but no Gaynor, FitzGibbon, Corkery, or Curtin. There is a Dore, but a boarder and shop assistant, not a shopkeeper. 1911 Census, Main Street: James McCarthy is dead, but his widow Margaret is still in business. David Hartigan, shopkeeper, has a 10 year old stepson named Jerry Curtin. James Cahill has a 4 year old stepson named Cornelius Dore.

Is this Mayor Gaynor's wake the day before the funeral.
