In the 1911 census on Church Street, I see Madigan (baker) near to Denis Vaughan (Shopkeeper), Patrick Walsh (as Padraig Breathnach, but they put Walsh on the building return). Madigan was a Baker in 1901, but he was single and boarding in Kilfenora. In 1911, he was married 6 years. Here are Michael and Bridget getting married in Feb 1905, when Bridget Moroney was a shopkeeper. And look! Michael was boarding in the Moroney's house in 1901! He married the bosses sister and mover to Ennistymon. (He also added 7 years to his age to get him a bit closer to his wifes age as she was 12 years older in 1911). So I think Madigan's bakery on Church Street, Ennistymon opened after 1905. The signage stands out as being fresh here, I'd say this is 1905-1910.

That could be the bould Michael fiddling with his shopfront in the image, with neighbour Brighid Breathnach looking out of her fishmongers shop next door. Might even be a teenage Padruig Breathnach sitting there with his dog, unfortunately not named in the census.

Archive shot L_CAB_08824 is the same view within minutes. Brighid is clearer. You can see from the downpipes that three shops including Madigan and Walsh have just been whitewashed.
