According to IMDb both films were released in November 1971 in Ireland - The Last Valley on the 19th. So I presume we are sometime fairly soon around that date.

My first thought when I saw this image was another movie - The Italian Job! The minis in line together speeding through Rome! A lovely shot of Dublin in the 70's. I love the lady and the girl at the bus stop with the bags of shopping waiting to take them home on the bus!

And that's presumably the (now extended) Gresham Hotel to the left? I stayed there many times in the 1970s,

Well, I'd have to be honest and say my eye is drawn more to the street lighting! There's two of the famous 1930s concrete Sofrapel columns, made in France, with Holophane lanterns; and the shop facade has two GEC 'Clearmain' lanterns that must have very fully illuminated that pavement!

That VW van has a reg. no. BZL. My dad's car was BZU 232, early 70s I think.
