New Ross Standard - Thursday 20 May 1993 carried a notice for an auction of railway sleepers and rails from the former Quigley Magnesite Plant at Ballynacourty. So it had gone by May 1993.

Used , and in the production of Magnesium Oxide, a heat resistant material.

Also used in floor screeds, and as a catalyst.

D'Alton Sports was the Cardinal D'Alton Games at Glenties on the weekend of 4 & 5 July 1971, “run in conjunction with the Glenties Homecoming Festival”. (Donegal News, 10 July 1971). Glenties Homecoming Festival opened on Friday 2 July and ran until 11 July. Don't know about the Queens, but this explains Exiles. The “Idea of the Homecoming Festival is to encourage emigrants from Glenties who are overseas to return home and take part in the festival activities in their home town during this week”. (Donegal Democrat, 2 July 1971)
