    I agree it is a 'composite'. The 'theatre' could be corner of Beak Street but it doesn't look right. Also it looks like All Souls Church is up on the right whereas it is actually right at the top at Langham Place near the BBC.

    We've lost a lot of pubs in Newcastle over the years - I'm glad I managed to sample some before they went! One pub I sadly missed was The Egypt Cottage. Kick myself for missing that one.. One thing I've noticed from this set of old Newcastle pics is that the roads were in much better condition back then. The excuse that there's more traffic now doesn't wash when you see how busy it was back then too.
