3 Keepers in the 1901 census, John N. Moore with Alexander Murray and John J. Gillispie assisting. All relatively young men, no wives or children on this remote posting. Moore's wife Marie Anne and their 6 children were in a house near the lighthouse at Blacksod Point on the mainland.

I don't see anything at buildingsofireland/NIAH, but the DIA says the lighthouse is from 1864.

The derrick bears signage for "Merritt & Chapman Derrick & Wrecking Co." who were one of the most respected salvage operators of the day. Wikipedia states . . . is not clear from the sources consulted so far what sorts of activities MC&S were involved in during the 1910s. Well, I can guess at least one activity.
