First Lady Dies in Dexter Mrs. Dorothy F. Brewster, 82, widow of the late United States Senator Owen Brewster, died Oct. 7 at her home at 37 Zions Hill, Dexter. She was born in Portland, May 6, 1889, the daughter of Charles S. and Cora (Macy) Foss. Following graduation from the Portland schools, she receved her Bachelor or Arts degree from Wellesley College in 1911. On April 20, 1915 she married Owen Brewster in Portland. They lived there until 1925 when her husband was elected governor of Maine and Mrs. Brewster began four years of public service as the First Lady of Maine and official hostess of the governor's mansion the Blaine House, at Augusta.   Mrs. Lorimer's NYT Obit provides a clue to this image. She was chairman of the States Committee for the Philadelphia Sesquicentennial Exposition in 1926, the date on the photo. The governors of 30 states called on her there to present their state flags.
