"Edward Victor Cicotte (June 19, 1884 – May 5, 1969), nicknamed "Knuckles", was an American right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball best known for his time with the Chicago White Sox.   That is Clarence "Pants" Rowland (1879-1969) on the left. He managed the White Sox to a World Series Championship in 1917.

  Note that the stands are not very full. The game on 10/1/1917 was the last game for the White Sox in the American League Championship and they were already the Championship winners and thus the game was of no significance.
