    Wikipedia article on series has info as well en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1912_World_Series For some reason they refer to Polo Grounds as "Brush Stadium", but the article for the stadium says Brush as not used after 1910. FWIW the Internet archive has audio of radio play by play for all series games 1934 onward archive.org/details/classicmlbbaseballradio

    Joseph John Lannin, a native of Canada, came up from poverty to own several hotels in the U. S. He acquired the Boston Red Sox in 1914, for $200,000 (a princely sum at the time) and owned the team for only three years. He is remembered for hiring Babe Ruth, but a later team owner let Ruth go. In 1928, Lannin died under peculiar circumstances, falling from a high window of his Brooklyn (N.Y.) hotel.
