Never heard of an Irishman playing Cricket !!! This photo was definitely NOT taken in the West of Ireland !!!

Marine Attack Squadron ( VMA ) 225 Ireland was part of Britain (UK) then and so it was not unusual to see thoroughly English games like cricket and croquet being widely played by the regiments and civilians too.

VMA225 you're wrong you know, cricket was widely played in Ireland and that includes down the west. The current Ireland team are very good and have taken some notable scalps, not least the Auld Enemy this year at the Cricket World Cup!!!
