    I am confused. The title and the flag tell me it's a French warship but then in the text below it says it is a Japanese battleship.

    Spot the differences! 'Marengo' in 1872 via Anton (Ton) Wegman History and details - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_ironclad_Marengo "She was sold for scrap in 1896." which implies the 1905-10 dates are not quite shipshape, unless they refer to a posted date.
