Launch of the cargo ship 'Kelmscott'

Health and safety regulations wouldn't allow this these days. Then again I guess there aren't too many ships like this get launched in this fashion these days ... certainly not from South Shields anyway.

I don't mean to be pedantic but isn't the flag the wrong way round ... I guess the image has been reversed at some time ? commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:The_Union_Jack_Flag_MOD_4...

Lot of mouth-breathers in here. I think it's funny that all of them have the complexion listed as 'fresh', like they were processed by the lady at the cosmetics counter in Macy's.

HLM1992 the number 455 in the lower left of Neil Quinn's card makes them associates at least. Refer to number upper right here

The 1911 UK Census confirms that Neil and Peter were brothers, both sons of Patrick and Mary Quinn. The Quinn parents were both born in Edinburgh and it appears moved to Gateshead sometime around 1903. They had 3 sons and 1 daughter by 1911. Patrick was a bricklayer. Does make you think how they felt about 2 of their boys turning to crime.
