Glad you came West to start the New Year. Great photo. The old tram operated between 1879 and 1918 when a shortage of horses and changing times finished it off. Many thanks for all the photos you brought us last year and looking forward to your choices for this year. The photo features what John B Keane regarded as one of the outstanding features of Irish towns in days gone by, the corner boys.

The building on the corner was a pub known as Lawlor’s in the 1970’s it may have been a pub long before that also.
