Vardon is responsible for popularizing the Vardon Grip aka the Overlapping Grip which has become the most used grip amongst golfers the world over. It was supposedly invented by a Scottish chap named Johnny Laidlay see here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Vardon#Vardon_Grip Wonderful image, thx for sharing.
