    Looking in Trove, there is a Family Notice (Births) in the Courier Mail of 22 January 1938: BLUNCK.— At Beaudesert, on Thursday. January 13 to Mr. and Mrs. Rex Blunck (nee Clarice Johnson), a son (Barry Johnson). On 8 October 1934, in the Courier Mail, this: A concert in aid of the Ballandean School of Arts building fund was organised by Mr. Frank Fielder, assisted by Mrs. Denyer. Items were contributed by Mrs. Denyer, Misses P. and V. Denyer, E. Mason, Clarice Johnson, and Messrs. Frank Fielder, L. Watts, Douglas Watts, and George Fisher. A dance followed the concert, music being supplied by Mrs. Denyer, Misses K. Newman and Walsh, and Messrs. R. C. R. Newman and Dudley Smith. There is a birth registration in 1912, in country Queensland, for a Clarice Maud Johnston.

    The birth of a Reginald Russell Hartigan was registered in country Queensland in 1912. Nothing much else pops out with a quick search. Widening the search on Clarice, she pops up a few times in reports of social events at Stanthorpe in 1926 and 1930; she appears to have been in the Stanthorpe Amateur Dramatic Society.

    I suppose the other way of looking at it is that I'm just a 'stickybeak'. I can't see something like this without trying to find out something about the people. (I do research for the Sandgate and District Historical Society, plus I am slowly working through my grandfather's collection of World War 1 photos and other ephemera to try to add more details to the little he left me.)
