  Marie Louise Bottineau Baldwin (1863-1952), Chippewa lawyer; she was the first Native American student and first woman of color to graduate from the Washington College of Law, in 1914. She worked in the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and was an officer in the Society of American Indians.   The uniformity of the diameter of these logs makes me wonder if this is one of the log cabins built from Cabbage Palms (Sabal Palmetto)? Several are still being used at Myakka State Park www.flickr.com/photos/jprentice/151427423/ and other examples exist in the Yankeetown area (vertical logs).
