    Well, the catcher is one of the NY Giants catchers. I suspect this was some sort of exhibition game which is why I said I wondered how bad they got beat by the real Giants.

    Could it be Ferguson Jenkins batting? The White Sox played a doubleheader against the A's on 1 July 1973 in Chicago. The same day, the Cubs were hosting the Mets for two games at Wrigley. Jenkins was pitching Game 1 of the Cubs-Mets doubleheader that afternoon. www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN197307011.shtml The only other African-American batting right-handed for the Cubs that day was Cleo James. There was also José Cardenal, from Cuba. But neither was as tall and thin as Jenkins. I'm perhaps too obsessed by this photo.
