Raymond Caryll Morgan (1889-1940) played with the Washington Senators from 1911 through 1918, his entire career. He played 2nd and 3rd base, often trading those positions with his teammate Eddie Foster, but also playing short stop some seasons. Ray Morgan stats at Baseball Almanac.

A Chicago Cubs Batter Awaits A Pitch From A Visiting Oakland A's Player In A Game At Wrigley Field, 07/1973

Doubt if the Cubs were playing the Oakland A's. Interleague play was not going on in 1973.

Looks like he photographed a White Sox - A's game as well, and then got confused while labeling.

Could it be Ferguson Jenkins batting? The White Sox played a doubleheader against the A's on 1 July 1973 in Chicago. The same day, the Cubs were hosting the Mets for two games at Wrigley. Jenkins was pitching Game 1 of the Cubs-Mets doubleheader that afternoon. www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN197307011.shtml The only other African-American batting right-handed for the Cubs that day was Cleo James. There was also José Cardenal, from Cuba. But neither was as tall and thin as Jenkins. I'm perhaps too obsessed by this photo.
