Actually, this was California Northwestern Railway (Not Canadian National), one of two identical engines ordered by that company for use in redwood logging operations.

See www.gnflyer.com/1924original.html The data sheet describes the Oriental Limited which was placed in service June 1, 1924 and operated until March 31, 1931. It was hailed by Great Northern as "An Aristocrat of the Rails." Beneath a copy of this photo, a caption reads, "Prior to the start of service the New Oriental Limited was displayed with the Wm Crooks and two vintage passenger cars." The train was displayed in Chicago and the other cities served, St. Paul, Spokane, Portland and Seattle. This photo is in Chicago; there is a noticeboard visible just to the right of the older train behind, reading "Chicago Great Western Freight Station. "The engine on the new train is GN Mountain 2527.
