    Admiral Bunkley had 3 sons- Joel W. Bunkley Jr. was Dean of the Law School at the University of Mississippi, a younger brother Allison Bunkley was a professor of history at Princeton in his early 20’s, the youngest professor at the time and author of a seminal book on Sarmiento www.jstor.org/pss/2509494. (Also see: the Allison Bunkley Memorial Scholarship at Princeton), and he had another son at age 68 in 1955, Brit Bunkley, an artist and professor now living in New Zealand www.britbunkley.com

    Apparently one of three railway guns (each mounting a 14-in/50" caliber naval gun) built by Baldwin Locomotive Works for the US Army (given the "U.S.A." markings; US Navy railway guns were marked "U.S.N" or "U.S. Navy") during the First World War. These were identical to the US Navy's Mark I railway guns. However, unlike the Navy's railway guns, the US Army's railway guns did not see combat.
