Amalgamated Wireless Australasia Ltd, York Street, Sydney, c. February 1939, Arthur Ernest Foster

I think the "c. December 1938" date might be too early. The 'Pegasus' symbol was "selected" by Sir Ernest Fisk in February 1939. Presumably it took a while to be installed. See - trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/222854384?searchTerm=A...

Yes - there seemed to be a month or so gap between the other photos but as you say the delay in getting the logo might have meant slightly longer date - will update to c. February 1939 until we get a more definitive date. We would also like to reiterate how useful Flickr and the comments from other members have been in helping us update the catalogue records in the Library database. Thanks.

Amalgamated Wireless Factory Parramatta Rd. Ashfield - 19th September 1935

If I may correct the RAHS. AWA was located on Parramatta Road in Ashfield, not Burwood which is further west and adjoining Croydon which is the suburb on the right in this photo. The canal in the centre of this photo is called the iron cove creek, which opens up to iron cove further down stream. Since the mid 90's the area has been redeveloped into a gated community, and the area fronting Parramatta road is where Indian motorcycles, Burger King and KFC now occupy the site. This canal is a natural delineator of 4 suburbs, Ashfield on the top left, Haberfield bottom left, Croydon top Right, and Five Dock bottom right with the road the entry leading to The Great North Road.
