    Australian National Maritime Museum on The Commons The State Records NSW catalogue says the steam yacht at front is the "NSW Government Steam Launch PREMIER". Unfortunately the captions for Series 4481 are notoriously unreliable, or perhaps fortunately because it has meant a lot of flickr fun for sleuths. A quick browse around Trove looks like this particular ID might be true.

    That poster (see note) refers to the 'St. Osyth' if my eyes do not deceive me. Looks like she might be the second/third one along with the black funnel. She broke speed records on a voyage to Australia in 1875. See full details in this Trove article which has an excellent illustration, technical information, and a wonderful personal letter describing a the voyage from Australia to England - trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/page/4766042

    "St. Osyth was built by Mitchell & Co., Newcastle in 1873 for Watts, Millburn & Co.'s China tea trade. She was registered at 3541 tons gross. On 31st October 1874 she made a round voyage from London - Cape Town - Melbourne for Anderson, Anderson & Co. and on 15th May 1875, she started regular London - Cape Town - Melbourne - Sydney sailings for the Colonial Line.     Great image! Out of curiosity to see what this image might look like colorized, I took the liberty of d/ling a copy of your image & ran it through the "In Color" rapid colorizing process at MyHeritage website (which I am a subscribed member of). It doesn't look too bad for a few minutes work?

    The Fort Macquarie Tram Depot (R) was opened on 10 August, 1902, ceased operations 22 October, 1955 & was demolished in 1958 to make way for the Opera House which was constructed on the sight. Bennelong Point was originally a small island.
