    the street light (?) that was behind the statue has been relocated a bit to the left, and I'm guess the original was floodlight by a single source.

    The street was never known as Princess Street and would only ever have been written that way in error (a common and easy mistake right enough). It was named after the sons of George III, the British monarch at the time of the New Town's construction in the 1760s. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Town,_Edinburgh
