Interesting, that newspaper report saying she was Chinese, must have been them just assuming that was the case and getting it wrong. Wish we had a film like the Anna Chang one. I wonder where the Anna Chang one came from anyway. So exciting that I have been distracted for the past hour doing my own searches :)

Unless of course she really was well known, and the records about her just haven't been digitised...Although I can't help but feel if she really was such a raging success, wouldn't the Australian newspapers have given her more of a mention?

Marjorie Lucey (b. 1893) was the eldest daughter of Kodak Australasia chairman John Rouse and his wife Anna. Marjorie and her sister Winifred were well known Sydney socialites in the years pre World War I. Marjorie married American engineer William Sylvester Lucey in 1918, after which she lived in the United States.
