Gwen Caine of Bowen ca. 1925

This may be the same Gwen Caine who was born in this house ("Rocklea"), 1 May 1911, the daughter of Edward J. Caine and and his wife Cecilia Jane Caine (nee Anthony). E.J. Caine was a Liberal MLA for Bowen, 27 April 1912 - 22 May 1915. Gwen may have then moved with her family to this house ("Bowenville"), in Poole Street, Bowen, as shown in this 1936 photo. Gwen, seen standing at the gate, married Winten Hoffman, an employee of the Bank of New South Wales. (Kiara Brown, live-in household helper, is standing on the steps.)
