Maybe the free masons know something about this guy.

tlwmdbt Well spotted! That apron is certainly a masonic one. Thanks for clearing that up, our records have been updated.

I don't know how deep your ambitions are, but I found this freemasondatabase.com/ via google. It seams, it is a search engine for members.

tlwmdbt thanks! We have a couple images of this guy, so perhaps we will be able to track down his name one of these days :)

Someone would have to email a request to the various Australian Grand Lodges asking them to email their lodge secretaries to ask their brethren if they could ID this Master Mason. Perhaps in later years he became Master of a lodge or a member of one of the Grand Lodges. If his surname was Hooker, they'd have him listed on their rolls. www.google.ca/#q=the+grand+lodge+of+australia

No "H" in Almici -- see caption on the photo.

Pope Pius X had a heart attack in 1913; perhaps this picture is related to that event.

Thanks for the information. The date inscribed in the upper right corner of the negative, 7/12/13, may indeed indicate that the photo was used in relation to Pope Pius X's heart attack in that year. We'll correct the spelling in the description when we update it.
