[http://www.flickr.com/photos/64555638@N00] and there's Merle Streep beside him!!! What a wonderful social commentary Carol, great shot and great material to mull over with a nice cup of tea and (non virtual) sticky bun! The two ladies with veils over their faces as a reminder that the hijab was not the only form of face covering in use. The gentleman with the top hat looking so discomfited by mixing with the hoi-polloi and the casual boater relaxing at the back, a great start to a Flickr week!

I'd say the woman at far left is only going as far as the Spanish Arch.

Taroom is a small picturesque country town located on the banks of the Dawson River in the Sandstone Wonders region, an aptly-named region encircled by magnificent sandstone cliffs and mountain ranges, offering adventures into ancient landscapes and rural Queensland pioneering history.
Locals describe Taroom as a friendly town – welcoming to visitors, with some great spots to grab a good country meal, a nice cuppa, a unique gift shop, regular sporting events and river festival, and lovely scenic spots to visit, including having a picnic at Sandy Creek, just on the outskirts of town; or at Isla Gorge – watching the gorge’s colours changing at sunset and sunrise.
