Entering the Karimjee Hall, Dar es Salaam, 27 March 1961, at the start of the Constitutional Conference. The Governor, Sir Richard Turnbull, KCMG, leads the British Secretary of State for the Colonies, the Rt. Hon. Iain Macleod, MP, followed by the President of TANU, Mr Julius K Nyerere, and then the Governor's Private Secretary, Mr I H Norton. ,

Second from left is the Speaker of the Tanganyika Legislative Council, the Hon. A Y A Karimjee, OBE. On the extreme left is the Attorney-General, Mr J S R Cole, QC. The occasion is presumably the departure of Mr Macleod after the Constitutional Conference held in Dar es Salaam in March 1961.
