Man third from right in front row - the late Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere- former President of Tanzania - born 1922 died 2000

This is nothing to do with Mkwawa's skull. The occasion is probably the Tanganyika Constitutional Conference held at the Karimjee Hall in Dar es Salaam in March 1961. From the left the people are Mr John Fletcher-Cooke, CMG, the Deputy Governor; Chief A S Fundikira, the Minister for Lands, Surveys and Water; Mr Amir Jamal, Minister for Communications, Power and Works; Mr (Mwalimu) Julius K Nyerere, Chief Minister.
