My Mum had one of these up to ten years ago, my own kids loved playing with it when they were toddlers in the 80's. These can go for a nice little sum depending on their condition. Nice shot Carol.

My late mother had one just like the one in the foreground. It was also a very ingenious device. The machine tilted on hinges, you lifted the table it sat on out of the way, again on hinges, the machine folded down below the level of the table and the whole thing closed up so that you had a neat table/worktop with a fancy singer stand beneath. I remember rooting through drawers like those and finding bobbins and reels and being fascinated by the movement of the bobbin underneath the baseplate!
