    Nice!

One of the yards of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. On the right are three of the west coast streamliners, Chicago, Ill. (LOC)

  • Matthew Brown said:
The streamliners appear to be one of the M-10003–6 trainsets, one of the E2 locomotives, and one of the later E6 locomotives. All were joint ownership between the C&NW, the Union Pacific, and (in the case of the City of San Francisco trains) the Southern Pacific.

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called freightyards, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

Looks like the highway on the left replaced the highway on the right, which helps figure the location. Do the three E7s mean west of San Antonio? If so it must be #2, which was due by Sierra Blanca at 1822 CST. Looks like they're about to pass the bridge at 31.1834N 105.3889W, two miles west of Sierra Blanca, with the sun a few degrees south of the track, 14 deg above the horizon. Allegedly taken the same date as the El Paso aerial www.flickr.com/photos/smu_cul_digitalcollections/14428987...
