The bomb exploded on Oct 13, 1914. A story about the bombing (an anarchist provocation) is in The Washington herald., October 15, 1914, Page 2, Image 2 chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn83045433/1914-10-15/ed-... books.google.com/books?id=lm0SCspDOjQC&pg=PA100&l... describes the spate of anarchist bombings around the same time.

Frank Abarno [1891-1978, (called Arbano in Times story), 22, one of the Italian anarchist bombers who plotted to blow up St. Patrick's Cathedral on March 2, 1915, and Carmine Carbone 18, the maker of the bomb:

These photos are probably the coffin being taken into and out of St. Patrick's Cathedral. The pallbearers were Pasquale Amato, Giuseppe de Luca, Leon Rothier, Antonio Scotti, Francesco Romei, Giulio Setti, Gennaro Papi, Fernando Carpi, Giulio Crimi, F.C. Coppicus, G. Viafora, and Dr. H.H Curtis.

These were mostly fellow Italian opera singers of the day, many pictured elsewhere in the Bain photos.
