10th Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment remained in the UK throughout WW1.

I wonder if this was Walter Douglas Seaton who was born in London in 1856, son of George & Emily Seaton. In 1881 he was working as a civil engineer.

He married Fanny Mary Warburton in Poplar in 1881 and died in Kensington in 1922, aged 66. I haven't been able to find any reference to his service during the war but perhaps that's to be expected as his regiment stayed in the UK. It was a service battallion and remained in England as a reserve battallion. More information about the Bedfordshires can be found at: www.bedfordregiment.org.uk/

This is the crew from Hartlepool when they went down to Coventry to thank them for fundraising for the Cycilist lifeboat in 1896. Suprisingly this lifeboat is the whitby built lifeboat Upgang Two. My great Grandfather was a crew member on that photograph.

Still not changed the caption on the photograph.
