    Not the river, the fish pond (25" link). The aerial shot there says it is still standing but ruined and the pond is gone. NIAH entry says it was burned down during the Troubles of 1923.

    This image is very reminiscent of old Hartlepool which featured housing along the sea wall almost on the beach. It must have been quite an experience living in one of these--especially on stormy nights!

    This is the crew from Hartlepool when they went down to Coventry to thank them for fundraising for the Cycilist lifeboat in 1896. Suprisingly this lifeboat is the whitby built lifeboat Upgang Two. My great Grandfather was a crew member on that photograph.
