What can one say? This is simply incredible, a find that matches the riches of any treasure or booty. One can peer into those faces and see personalities, biases, worldviews, politics, and socio/economic stations of the subject. These photos are as enlightening as any dry, massive missive on the trial, and one is privileged to psychoanalyze (armature fun, no fear of malpractice implications) the the cameras target to boot!

What a superb archive photograph. These are such important historical records, it's amazing that they are so well preserved and of such good quality after all this time.

This young girl was unknown to William Silverman. As his daughter, he went over the photos with me several times over the years. He knew he was taking Clarence Darrow's photo and Mr. Bryan's but none of the others.
