  NYT of June 12, 1913 query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9D00E2D7103CE633A... indicated that she had just arrived in New York to dance and the article appears to describe this outfit. No mention of the animal!!

  I don't know.. still resembles a monkey to me when I zoom in. Curled tail, dangling leg, and no signs of cat ears.

  According to The Toronto World - Mar 26, 1916 news.google.com/newspapers?nid=22&dat=19160326&id... Irene Castle had a pet French Guinea monkey called Rastus, "much photographed and written of." Apparently when she sat down to write to her husband, the monkey insisted on having paper and pencil!
