I can barely make out the date on Pall Mall magazine, but it might be July 1905. Or maybe 1906. "The Royal" in his hand, does say July on the cover. Pretty heavy coat for July though. Found a picture of the June 1905 Pall Mall, but I think they all had the same cover design.
