North Queensland coastal view from The Bluff at the southern end of Kemp Beach 1939

Bluff Point section, at the southern end of Kemp Beach, is a popular picnic spot with superb coastal scenery. It features a range of coastal vegetation from mangroves and heath lands to open eucalypt forests and tussock grasslands and is the largest trachyte plug on the Capricorn Coast. Kemp Beach is located just south of Rosslyn Bay Marina, on the Scenic Highway that links Yeppoon and Emu Park. Kemp Beach is nestled between two large post-volcanic trachyte headlands; Double Head to the north, and Bluff Point to the south, both of which are part of the Capricorn Coast National Park. Out in the bay, just a kilometre offshore, is a third trachyte hill, Bluff Rock (or Bluff Rock Reef). The three dominating features, combined with the substantial if eroded dune between the beach and the road give the impression of solitude, and it's a very easy task to relax. Kemp Beach's distance from the nearest town lights also makes it a great place for stargazing with friends at night. Source: ajthompson.com.au/central-queensland-places/kemp-beach.htm

US Capitol

Please focus on non-federal buildings in your photostream - there are obviously thousands of photos of the Capitol on Flickr ... DCPL's images of neighborhood buildings and events will be much more unique, helpful, and interesting as uploads. Happy to see new additions here either way, though :)
