Rostrevor is also the site of an ancient SSSI woodland. Very much a gem of Ireland's natural world.

Thanks for spotting the lost punctuation. Woodside might be the name of a hotel in Rostrevor, so going with a comma for now. Hopefully we'll hear more soon about the buildings in the scene.

The hotel is (was) the Great Northern Hotel - Woodside is correct however it refers to an area slightly further back in the picture. The building itself was destroyed in a fire bomb attack in the late 1970's and was never rebuilt. The site is now a car showroom. There are many photographs of the area and some of them along with a photo of a tiny fragment of the old horse drawn tram rails remains and can be seen here: www.oldwarrenpointforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&...

There is a photograph similar to this view in the National Library of Ireland's collections , and it is identified: Woodside, Rostrevor, Down, so it seems we can safely stay with our current identification. The hotel was the Mourne Hotel in the 1890-1900 timeframe of this Photochrom.
Here's a view from past the hotel, looking towards where the Photochrom was taken, showing the tram line in use.
