Maria Goeppert Mayer was honored in the third volume of the American Scientists collection of US postage stamps, in June, 2011. The stamp is one in a series that honors Americans who have made extraordinary contributions to science. Mayer was one of only two women to ever win the Nobel Prize in physics—the other was Marie Curie.
The stamp combines images from the University of California San Diego’s Mandeville Special Collections Library, and includes photographs of Maria Goeppert Mayer and her signature. Also included is part of a chart of the elements and isotopes with "magic numbers," from an article Mayer published in Scientific American in 1951; and a schematic diagram of nuclear shell levels, from Mayer and Jensen’s Elementary Theory of Nuclear Shell Structure. (Scott 4543).

Jack Brown was a formidable player in his day and also a great contributor to golf in Queensland. "Runner-up in -the B Grade was John Brown. John has been featured in golf notes a few times now and I think I mentioned in these notes from a week or so ago that this chap had real golf style and practice will make a stylish golfer of him."
