Bundaberg Station in 1882

  The Bundaberg railway station has been extended and modified since its 1887 origins in the late nineteenth century. Refreshment rooms were added to the original buildings in 1897 after the opening of the railway to Gladstone. In 1932 a short turntable was provided for turning railmotors that ran to Mount Perry, Morganville, Maryborough and Bororen over the subsequent decades. Trains also ran to the seaside at Neilson Park and Bragara. The original railway station for Bundaberg was situated on the North Side of the Burnett River and linked the town with Mount Perry. The photo was taken in 1881, with a contractor's locomotive being serviced in the station yard. - Queensland Rail Historical Collection.
