Its so funny seeing Sydney Town Hall as the tallest structure. And of all the buildings in this picture, only the ones on the left (St Andrews Cathedral, the Town Hall and the Queen Victoria Building) remain standing today.

Strange - tram lines and pylons all in place (George St line opened in December 1899), but no trams at 2:48pm. I wonder if this was taken just before the trams started operating?

I had lived in Sydney for 10 years and came back to my home in Japan in Feb this year. This is now where I used to catch my bus to and from city.

So all of this magnificence has gone then? Like a good many marvellous pieces of architecture sadly.
