The Theatre Royal, part of the Town Hall, is showing ‘a bunch of roses’ ?

I notice that the coat of arms above the door is missing in one of the linked photos above

17. The Town Hall
The present town hall was built in 1926 on the site of the one destroyed by fire on 28 September 1920, in reprisal for the capture of Mallow Barracks. Prior to the first Town Hall a drapery business was conducted on the site by Mr. Rafferty, from whom it was purchased by the Urban District Council.

18. Fitzgerald Monument
Erected by public subscription at a cost of £375 to the memory of John Joseph Fitzgerald.
It was unveiled by Wm O'Brien on October 13th 1907. John Joseph Fitzgerald (1872-1906) was born in Shortcastle and became a teacher at the Patrician Academy. He was the first Chairman of Mallow Urban District Council and was also a member of Cork County Council.

This is the original town hall in Flinton. It was originally built c.1915 as an enlistment station and drill hall for WW1 soldiers of the 146th Battalion, CEF. It backs onto the Skootamatta River below the Flinton Falls and the ruins of the old hydro powerhouse. I believe this photo was taken by my maternal great-grandfather, James Halley Stone. He would have been standing diagonally across the road in front of their old original house. (The old house (no longer standing) was attached to his general store (still standing). The old house was located where Betty Davison's flower garden used to be.) The general store was later operated by Arthur and Ina Carkner. After the Carkners retired and closed the store it was purchased by Doug and Betty Davison.

I seem to recall the Carkners living in a big oid house backing onto the skootamata a few doors up from the garage, general vicinity of Elaine and Keith del yeas house? Mr Carnes was our music teacher and traveled from school to school, I recall attending Elaine and hubbys wedding dance in the old town hall, would that be the same hall as mentioned in the other picture?

Is this the same hall that stood and was active until the new community center was built and later belonged to Jim Lloyd, between Wilfred Lessards old place and Verna Andrews home?
